Polysics Toronto Concert

Last night I attended the Polysics concert in Toronto. It was amazing! Two bands went on before them but it was worth the wait. The performed mostly songs from their latest cd, We Ate The Machine [stream the music here]. They performed in Montreal yesterday and they’ll be in London tomorrow. I’m tempted to drive down to London just so that I can see them again.

We were really lucky last night. I got to meet Hiro (lead singer) twice! Once before they went on and after they finished. The first time I had to stare at him for a while to determine whether it was him (he wasn’t wearing the black glasses). I finally got up the courage to ask him and when he said yes I contained my fangirl squeals and asked if he would take a picture with me and my sister. He agreed and even shook my hand after. He’s such a nice guy and really attractive. I hadn’t really noticed before until I saw him in person. Maybe I’m just smitten because I was actually in his presence. Haha…*cough*.

Anyway, we had a good time and I can’t wait until they come back for another performance. Here is another review of the concert and some pics I took. POLYSICS OR DIE!!!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THESE PICTURES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.

I’m not sure what it is about awesome Asian artists coming to Toronto at the end of 2008, but it’s great (aside from killing my wallet). In addition to the Dir En Grey concert on November 16 and the Jay Chou concert on December 18, I am now also going to the Polysics concert on November 5. The last time they were in Toronto was in 2005. I’m so excited! I can’t believe how spoiled I am for being able to go see so many people that I love. *squee*

Okonomiyaki at Okonomi House

Two weekends ago I went to Okonimi House - a Japanese restaurant in downtown Toronto that makes okonomiyaki. It was my first time trying the dish and I was really excited since I’ve seen it so many times in dramas and animes (i.e. hana kimi). Well it was everything I anticipated it to be…delicious! So if you are ever in Toronto and in the mood for okonomiyaki, stop by there and have one. It’s about $6 for one and worth every bite. Here is the picture I took of mine. It doesn’t do it justice.
