I just watched the subbed clips from Coolsmurf of episode 7 of We Got Married. This is the one where Solbi gets her mom to help her make kimbap to take for the Shinhwa members. Shinhwa are so dorky and I loved how they made Andy and Solbi kiss…three times. W00t! This episode was so was unbelievably amusing. I watched each clip at least twice, and there are four all together! Yes, I’m a dork that way. Anyway I’m really excited about them so I thought I would post it on here for others to see…and for me to have quick access to them ^_^;. If you really want to see a spoiler screencaps, click here.

Ivy Is Back

Ivy is ending her long hiatus from the Korean public by acting in the SBS special Tokyo Shower. She was on a hiatus from the entertainment industry for a while and then participated in some performances outside of Korea, including one in BC, Canada. I felt bad for her during the entire sex scandal with her ex-boyfriend Yoo and Wheesung. Sure she isn’t perfect, but who is? I never condoned her actions but I also didn’t like how she was demonized when she was also a victim. Being stalked, threatened and blackmailed is serious and shouldn’t not be taken lightly. And it is definately NOT appropriate to say careless statements like she deserved it because nobody deserves to have their safety put in jeapordy. Nobody. This is about human rights and she was abused not only by Yoo but also by thoughtless antis and the media. I read many people’s comments calling her a whore, but who is the real whore? Ivy, who cheated on her ex-bf with Wheesung and didn’t use it for publicity (although it definately made her popular), or those who used the story for their own selfish desires (ie. Wheesung who used the scandal to paint himself like an innocent victim, the media who used the story to make money, etc.). Again, I’m not condoning her choices, but we should not ignore the context of the situation. And one last thing, people need to learn what the definition of a whore is. It is not synonymous with “loose woman”.

Anyway, I hope she had a good rest and wil succeed in the future. She is one of the few Korean artists with exceptional talent. And this whole scandal could have destryoed her career but she is persevering and attempting to comeback after all that bullshit. I wish her the very best.

New ‘We Got Married Couple’: Hwang Bo & Kim Hyun Joong

I was sad to hear that Alex and Shin Ae wouldn have to leave the show We Got Married because of Alex’s schedule, but I must say that I am intruiged by the couple who is replacing them: Kim Hyun Joong and Hwang Bo. This will definately be interesting since they both have hard-headed personalities. Hopefully Hyun Joong will wake up on time for the show *har har*. And umm…what is the age difference between those two? I guess this couple appeals to all those boys who love their nunas. This is the way I see the couples:

Andy & Solbi: Appeals to younger viewers who are into cute relationships and reminds older viewers of how they used to be.

Alex & Shin Ae: Appeals to viewers in their 20s+ who are more into romance than sickly sweet cuteness.

Crown J & In Young: The comedic relief in the show. Appeals to those who want a good laugh by watching useless marriage squabbles and immature freakouts. I definately enjoy the ‘push-ups to releive stress’ bit.

I can’t really say much about Saori and Jung Hyung Dong since I haven’t watched their parts of the show (they aren’t subbed). click here for a list of subbed clips.

Song Hye Gyo Is A Plastic Beauty?

Song Hye Gyo quickly got kicked off the Korea’s Natural Beauties list when pictures of her during her high school days were posted online and compared to her recent pictures. many fans are shocked and disappointed. Previously I didn’t think anyone was gullible enough to believe that Korean stars haven’t had any cosmetic procedures. With the pressure they are under it doesn’t matter how good looking they are. There is always something they have to “fix”. I sympathize with these stars. In order for them to stay in the business they have to get “fixed”.

But back to Song Hye Gyo, some of those pictures don’t really convince me. It just looks like she lost weight, had pictures taken at different angles and changed her makeup techniques. Sometimes pictures of myself come out and make me look so different than what I normally look like. So I think that some of those pictures aren’t very convincing - mostly the ones implying she had a nsoejob. It looks like she definately had double eyelid surgery, but how is that surprising? I’m just surprised that gullible people still exist.

You can see the pictures here.

Tim Hwang In Two Upcoming Musicals

Written by: Tenderly

I haven’t heard about Tim Hwang (Young Min Hwang) in a while, but I found out that he is going to be in two upcoming performances. The first is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which is the same musical as the one performed by Donny Osmond. The musical was written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based on the story from the Hebrew Bible/ Christian Old Testament of Joseph and his “coat of many colours”. This particular production is put on by the church Tim attends in order to raise funds for missions. It will take place on May 17, 2008 at Gangnam Community Center at 2pm and 7pm. I don’t want to make this performance all about Tim since this is about his personal faith and not about his entertainment career. Since this is put on by a church for missions I want to emphasize that Tim will be in the play along with many other dedicated followers of Jesus Christ.

The second performance that Tim will be in is the musical, Jesus Jesus where he will play Jesus. The musical runs from June 18-20, 2008 at The National Theater of Korea’s Haeoreum Hall in Seoul. You can read more about it here at krnloop.

I love the new Korean show, We Got Married. There are eight celebrities who are paired off into four couples and they get married on the show. Then every two weeks they are filmed as a newlywed couple with missions to complete, which involves some bonding activity that bring them closer together. The four couples in no particular order are: 1) Andy Lee (Shinhwa) and Solbi (Typhoon), 2) So In Young (Jewelry) and Crown J, 3) Alex (Clazziquai) and Shin Ae, 4) Saori and Jung Hyung Dong.

I know it’s not real, but Alex is so charming and I have a crush on him ^_^. Haha, actually he’s not really my type, but his charm is quite irrestable. Anyway, here are links for parts of episodes with English subtitles thanks to coolsmurf.
