Super Junior’s Asia Tour

SUJU will be having their first Asia tour ever this month called the “Super Show”. Their concerts will take place in Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai, Bangkok, Taipei, Malaysia and others. The tickets for these shows will be auctioned off at 5:00 on January 22. You can read more about it here. Lucky people in those areas. I hope they appreciate how blessed they are. SUJU come to Canada! T_T

Btw, I was reading Pop Seoul and I found this post ridiculous. This is one of the sentences they had in the post: “No matter how pretty a girl you are, if you are not wearing the right clothes, the perfect hair and makeup, you can end up looking like a walking billboard.” Umm…how does wearing the “right” clothes with the “perfect” hair and makeup NOT make you a walking billboard? You may not be one in a literal rectangular sense but you would definately be making a statement about your fashion sense, your social class, and your monetary attainment (among other things), along with the statement that others should desire to be with you and be like you. How is that not a billboard, dumbass? Are the writers at Pop Seoul even educated or are they stupid high school students who have nothing better to do than criticize people without even having a grasp of reality? I don’t mind harsh criticism, but stupidity annoys me. Get educated!

South Korea’s New Stage Whore

WARNING: This post contains swearing.

Move over Lee Hyori. JYP is shoving you into the second place spot for South Korea’s national stage whore.

There are two things in particular that disturbs me about JYP’s image. Firstly he is supposed to be married to a fashion designer, so why does he dress like crap? Unless his wife is dressing him in crap…poor guy. If the latter is true then he needs to keep his trap shut so that he can get some loving when he goes home. Although it seems like he gets enough groping on stage.

Secondly he is molesting women and allowing women to molest him to a very public audience. Well…maybe I shouldn’t call it molesting, but what message is he trying to send his audience? That women should be displayed and used like a piece of meat who are just there to pleasure men? I’m sorry JYP but get your nasty, sexist self off the stage! You are not cool when you degrade women. Stop flaunting your damn male dominance over your bitches. The last thing we need are more women and young women believing that their only place is on their knees or bent over in front of a man.

That’s right! Kim Jong Min and Hyun Young are a couple and have been for over a year. News of the relationship emerged when a picture of the two were captured celebrating the New Years together. The speculation seemed to be treated as a very plausable rumour and was verified by Hyun Young on Jan 4, 2008 on Section TV Entertainment. She stated, “We got closer while working together, and because of that we developed great feelings for each other…I was attracted to Jong Min’s innocence and outgoing personality.” So it is official! Here is the picture of them from Hyun Young’s fanclub meeting.

What’s up with SUJU using ‘U’ in their song titles? Anyway, Marry U is a cute song with a cute MV. I enjoy the look for it too. Somehow their pants look super comfy and it makes me wish I had my own pair. I watched their performance on Golden Disk last night and the part for Marry U was really good. It had a jazz theme to it with Siwon on the drums, Ryeowook on the keyboard, and Sungmin and Kangin singing. There was also a guy playing the bass and at first I thought it was another SUJU member until they zoomed in on him =P. You can watch it here:

Interview With Brian Joo

HOMG! A recent English interview with Brian Joo! If I got to interview Brian I wonder what I would ask him. Actually, I wouldn’t want to interview him. I’d rather hang out with him at a coffee shop and talk to him about other things, such as faith-life, and what life is like as an Korean-American living in Korea. I’m interested in the ways people perceive the world as a Christian when they are in a marginalized or minoritized position.

But anyway, you can read about it here at Shenyuepop.com. It is really awesome that they got to have an exclusive interview with him. I much prefer reading Shenyuepop.com over Popseoul.com and I’m happy that Brian was kind enough to do an interview with him. And apparently Brian is on FB. If you type in “Brian Joo” though, there are quite a few accounts with pictures of him. I’m not sure if he made a bunch of fake accounts or they were just psycho fans doing that. =P

[edit] Btw, Brian answers why they are performing in Hawaii and not in other cities. I guess in order for them to come to Toronto we need to get sponsors and help them coordinate the concert. I wonder if Brian has ever been to Toronto…I wonder if that would also motivate him. =P [/edit]

Hana Kimi Is Love

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all enjoyed spending time with your loved ones these past few days. And I also hope 2008 will be a great year for all of you. Thanks to my regular readers who drop by and read my posts…even though this particular space hasn’t been open for every long. =P

So I finally finished watching Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana Kimi) with my sister. I loved it…although the ending was a little dragged out. I thought I wouldn’t like the Japanese version after watching the Taiwanese version since I liked the latter so much, but I found them both enjoyable. Each had it’s own sense of humour and different styles of acting. I don’t think it’s fair to compare the two. I did find the dorm head of the second dorm (Mizushima Hiro) really attractive. Even though his hair was a little o_O, he was still eye candy. I can’t believe he is my age. And did anyone else notice how nice everyone’s teeth were in that drama? It’s like they buffed them before every take! Haha. =P
