Grad Photos
mood:
listening to: Kangta - Polaris
Had my grad photos taken today. I hope they turn out nice because I don't want to get retakes. They really put you in weird poses during the sit-in... but suppposedly it'll make the photo look nicer. =P

YES!!!
mood:
listening to: Jay Chou - Hair Like Snow
I finally got an easy midterm! I was kinda worried about my STAT 330 midterm because it can be very tough if the prof chose to make it that way. It wasn't that bad at all! I was able to do all the questions, and hopefully I didn't make some stupid mistake somewhere.
I also learned something very interesting in ENGL 119 today. (on grammar!) The following two sentences are very similar, but are actually saying slightly different things.
"My watch that my mom gave me is broken."
"My watch, which my mom gave me, is broken."
The first sentence is implying that I have multipl watches, and the one that my mom gave me is broken. The second sentence implies that I only have one watch, which happenes to be given to me by my mom.
Interesting...

Yowza!
mood:
listening to: Jay Chou - Go Back to the Past
Just had my DB mditerm. It wasn't as easy as I had hoped it would be. It was the longest one hour I've had this term. But seeing as how most people didn't do that well either, I'd say I did okay.
I am also done my critical comparisons document for ENGL 119, and am currently engaged in major buckling-down-and-studying for STAT 330. Wish me luck!

Break Over
mood:
listening to: Jay Chou - In the name of the father
The break is over between Ams and I. It didn't last a month, but I'm glad. I think it's nice to take the opportunity to see each other when we can. I was over at her place last night to talk things over. Everything worked out. :)
In other news, my allergies are acting up again. It's pretty bad this time. My nose is constantly runny, and I keep sneezing. Another reason why I hate the summer.

It's Too Hot
mood:
listening to: BoA - Atlantis Princess
It was so hot today... I can't stand hot weather. I prefer winter over summer because at least you can wear more to keep warm. What can you do when it's over 30 degrees and you have no air conditioning? >_>
So the studying didn't go as planned today. Mainly because I spent most of the day with a headache. I think I had the maximum recommended number of advil pills.
Anyway, it's cooler now cuz it's night-time. I'm gonna try and get some work done.
Note to self: If it gets too hot again, just go to the library to do work.

Oh crap...
mood:
listening to: BoA - No. 1
I just got out of my CS 456 (Networks) midterm. It was pretty hard. (for me at least) But that's done and over with. =P
I just realized how much work I have for next week. DB midterm, STAT 330 midterm, ENGL 119 critical comparison document, STAT 330 assignment, and CM 361 assignmet. Which means that this weekend will be super-duper-cramming weekend. Sounds fun.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that I really regret taking ENGL 119 this term. It is not what I thought it would be. You get an assload of work... and even though it's not too hard, it's too time consuming!
So to anyone who might be thinking of taking ENGL 119: DO NOT TAKE ENGL 119! (assuming you don't have to take it) And I know a lot of people end up on my blog by googling UW courses, so to make sure they read this I will add the following... uwaterloo engl 119, university of waterloo english 119, uw engl 119. =P

Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0
mood:
listening to: Sum 41 - Don't Believe It All
I thought this was kinda cute...
Dear Tech Support:
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
distinct slow down in the overall performance - particularly in the
flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend
5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such
as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable
programs such as NFL 5.0 and NBA 3.0. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs,
and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running
Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, to no avail. What can I do?
Signed, Desperate
Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.
Try to enter the command: C:/ITHOUGHTYOULOVEDME to download Tears 6.2,
which should automatically install Guilt 3.0. If that application works as
designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications
Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above
application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or
Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will create Snoring Loudly.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 or reinstall the
Boyfriend Program. These are not supported applications and will crash
Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited
memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider
buying additional software to improve memory and performance. I personally
recommend Hot Food 3.0 and Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck, Tech Support

The Busy-ness Starts
mood:
listening to: Jay Chou - Black Sweater
It's that time of the term again. Midterms! As if I'm not busy enough already. I will be pretty dead over the next four weeks.
Lots and lots of assignments and midterms for the next month. And to cap everything off is my final midterm (CM 361) plus CS 456 assignment both on the same day! @_@
I miss Ams a lot. I can't wait to see her at the end of this month. I'm still not too thrilled about the break, but at least I'm very busy right now.

Process Presentation
mood:
listening to: KangTa - Polaris
I had to present my process presentation for ENGL 119 today. I started preparing for it this morning... so let's just say I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be.
I also got sick. :(
You know how when you're sick you don't really care about much else? That's how I feel right now. I guess that's why I didn't care too much about my presentation. Went to Sobey's with Peter to get some medicine for my cold.. hopefully I will recover soon.

Network Lab Sucks!
mood:
listening to: Hamasaki Ayumi - fairyland
Just got out of the first Networks lab. I was partnered with Sharon... Paul and Lester were there as well. That lab room is horrendous! A bunch of PCs running, no windows, bad ventilation = HOT!
It also took much longer than I anticipated. Mostly due to my lack of reading the intructions properly. So sorry Sharon! =P At least next time I will know that following the instructions carefully will result in less headaches.
And I think I'm getting sick as well. My throat is sore, and I think I sound different.
Anyway, now it's time to start/finish preparing for my ENGL 119 presentation tomorrow. Or should I just wing it? O_o

Work Overload
mood:
listening to: Hamasaki Ayumi - STEP you
I don't think I have been this busy thus far in my university career. I'm so tired everyday, and it's not just from the lack of sleep. I've gone longer with less sleep before, but it's just the thought of having so much to do that's making me tired.
If you have access to my Google Calendar then you'll be able to see my schedule. =_=
Anyway, I didn't finish my STAT 330 assignment today. I had a few more questions left on it, but I was too tired to finish them last night. I set my alarm for 7:30 this morning to finish the assignment, but I didn't wake up until 9:45 am. I quickly got ready for CS 456 and went to class. I managed to finish most of the assignment, save one. I hope I do get over 80 on this assignment. So far my marks this term isn't as high as I'm aiming for.

Just want to bring to your attention a really cool site I found: http://www.peekvid.com/. This site has a lot of videos that you can stream... organized by TV shows, anime, Chinese music videos, Korean music videos, etc.
Be warned though, if you're on ResNet like me, it can really consume a lot of download usage. =P

Exhausted
mood:
listening to: Jay Chou & Lara - Coral Sea
It's week number six of the school term. I'm completely exhausted already and midterms haven't even started yet! I pretty much have an assignment to do everyday. *sigh*
Guess what? I just got another mini-assignment today for CM 361 that's due in two days. I have to read a research paper and find references for three topics that we're going to be discussing in class. Technically I don't HAVE to do the research... but if I don't I won't have anything to discuss in class.
STAT 330 assignment #2 is due tomorrow, and CS 456 lab is on Wednesday.
Oh btw, my STAT 330 prof writes "ass 1" and "ass 2" for assignment #1 and #2. I found that quite funny.... okay, so maybe I'm immature. =P

Big Feet
mood:
listening to: Jay Chou - Black Humor
I just remembered something...
I just remembered that... I have... big feet.
When I was younger I noticed that my feet are kinda big.
I thought I'd grow tall becaues my feet are big.
It didn't happen.
Maybe because I didn't exercise enough.
I blame video games... =P

A Break
mood:
listening to: Fastball - The Way
So Ams wants to take a break from me for a month. She got mad at me last week because I didn't go see her after she got off work at 9:30 pm. I would have gone over, but I don't need to explain myself for not going over. This is my busiest term so far, and frankly I don't have time to deal with this stuff.
I have no idea what a break is going to do. I personally don't think it's constructive at all. Anyway, she can do whatever it is she wants. I'm going to just focus on school.

Argh!
mood:
listening to: S.H.E - Summer Smile
It's been a while since I last blogged. I've been so busy the past few weeks! I've had at least two assignments due every week for almost the whole month of May.
I just finished my first Networks assignment this morning. I actually finished earlier than I thought I would. It's due tonight right before 12:00 am... so I guess I finished "early." :)
I've been working out at least three times per week so far this term. The result is showing... a little bit. hehe
