I'm Sick

mood:
listening to: Jolin Tsai - Miss You

I'm sick... =(. I think I caught the cold from Joyce. Stupid Joyce >_>.

Anyway, Ams moved back to Brampton this past Wednesday. Greg drove her and Ness home from Waterloo, along with Ryan... and all their girly stuff =P. We went to Bramalea Mall (sp?), and hung around... yeah.

Yesterday I was out with Ams at sq1... I had to go get a new health card (one with my picture). I have to go back again, cuz I forgot to bring a proof of residency. Afterwards we came back to my place... we played Mario Kart on GC =). It was fun.

And I'm feeling a bit out of it... so I'm off.

3A Term is Done!

mood:
listening to: Dashboard Confessional - This Ruined Puzzle

I'm officially finished my 3A term today! Overall it was am okay term... I learned more lessons this term that will help me in the future school terms (and anyone reading this should learn from them too).

Lesson 1: Take each assignment seriously. They may be only worth 1-2% each, but they help you learn the materials. Allocate enough time to go through each assignment, and try your hardest.

Lesson 2: Take assignments even more seriously when they're wroth 6% each, and account for a total of 30% of your final mark in that course! That's 30% that shouldn't be too hard to get if you just tried hard enough.

Lesson 3: Don't skip more than 80% of your lectures... even if the course is easy, going to classes will make it that much easier. Plus, the prof might tell you things in the course notes that you are not required to know for the exams.

Lesson 4: WoW and school really don't mix. Cancel your subscription before it's too late! =P

So those are my words of wisdom for the day... remember them well! =D

PS. Happy Birthday Vanessa!

Almost Done

mood:
listening to: Goo Goo Dolls - Iris

I can see the light! Tomorrow will be my last final of the term. I have stats from 2-5 PM tomorrow... it shouldn't be too hard. I just have to make sure I know my terms, cuz the calculations are pretty easy. I need 80% on this exam to get 80% in the course. I think it's very doable... major cram session tonight! =D

Out of my four finals last week, I only did well on one of them, which is CS 360. I'm not sure about my other ones... I guess I will have to wait and see. I'm betting on CS 360 and stats to pull my average up this term... I really need to get it up.

Anyway, I was out with Ams on Saturday... mostly just walking around Conestoga Mall. We saw "Guess Who?" with Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac. It was funny... and it was about interracial dating =_o.

It was really hot today... I hate hot days... somewhere between 10-18 degrees is good for me, unless I'm going to the beach or something. O_o

Happy Birthday Francy!

mood:
listening to: Chris Tomlin - Enough

I finished my calc and business exams... calc was pretty hard, business wasn't too bad. So that's 2 down, 3 more to go! CS 341 tomorrow, with CS 360 on Friday. This should be interesting... I'm so organized for CS 341. I typed up a summary of the course, and put my notes in a duo-tang.... now if only I can get enough studying done =P.

There's a CS 360 review session today at 5:30-7 PM, so that'll be my review time for CS 360 today. After I finish CS 341 final tomorrow I will really start studying CS 360 @_@... so much to do *sigh*..... V_V;

And lastly... Happy Birthday Francy! =)

What I did today

mood:
listening to: A-mei - Love Will Never Disappear

So I haven't blogged about what I did today =P... well, I took a break from studying and tried to visit the Answers in Genesis bookstore with Ams. Then I found out the store is closed during weekends, so we decided to go to the Waterloo Park. We saw the bunnies there.... there so cute ^_^. We also saw a beaver. Yes, a beaver! Can you believe that? It was build it's dam, and I took a few pictures (I had my camera there to take bunny pictures). Ams is posting them on her site (in the gallery section), so you can go see the pics when they are up.

Then we had lunch with Peter at Mirage (Jap+Korean restaurant). Their lunch specials were crazy! I had chicken teriyaki and sashimi for just $8.99.. whereas the chicken teriyaki alone cost $11.99 at dinner time O_O. I love Japanese food, especially sashimi. I ordered some soba as well today, just to check them out. It was ok. Definitely not what I was expecting... maybe they would be even better with sake =_o, but then what isn't better with sake? lol

Tomorrow is gonna be more studying for me... calc exam on Monday, followed by business on Tuesday. It's gonna be a funtacular week!

Origin of Life

mood:
listening to: Jacky Cheung - Forget I, I Can't Do

There is an article on slashdot that talks about a study done by researchers at UW that shows that the early earth atmosphere is favourable to life, and how this makes the Miller experiment (to build amino acids) relevant again. I posted a comment on slashdot, and here it is:

Now they just have to show how these amino acids can form proteins... and how DNA can arise.

Amino acids have eve been found on meteor rocks... But just because you have the building block for life, it still doesn't explain how life formed in the first place. Just as having bricks doesn't explain how houses are built.

Chinese oppose Japan seat

mood:
listening to: A-mei - Blue Sky

I was reading this article, and I find it funny that China is so opposed to Japan. This is a quote from one of the protestors:

"It would be an insult to the world and to the UN if a country that refuses to recognise history is allowed a permanent seat."

China itself does not have the best reputation. Remember Tiananmen Square? What about the whole SARS cover up controversy? (cf. China confesses to SARS cover-up). The reality is that the Communist Party has long been practicing withholding information from the Chinese public and the world. Nationwide cover-ups of potentially embarassing incidents have always been carried out under the mantra of "preserving social stability".

Giving Japan a permanent seat on the UN Security Council is not that big of a deal. If you ask me, giving China a seat on the UN Human Rights Commission is far more ridiculous. China is known abuser to human rights, and it doesn't make sense to give them a seat on the Human Rights Commission. Of course even more ridiculous is that Libya is the Chair of that commission. Libya is one of the world's worst countries when it comes to human rights. The entire UN seems to just be messed up.... they seriously don't do anything!

And here you have a protest in China to keep Japan out of the UN Security Council because they don't approve of Japan's actions ... it's a bit ironic.

John Paul II

mood:
listening to: nothing

I know this isn't the most recent news, but I would like blog something about it.

I know many people in the world (Catholics or not) regard the late Pope as a great and holy man, but I would disagree. Here is a man who wanted people to address him as the "Holy Father" and claimed to be "The Head of the Church." The Holy Father is God the Father, and the Head of the Church is Jesus Christ. He taught a false gospel and led many to hell.

Here is an article that Grace sent to me that I thought Christians should read: http://www.pro-gospel.org/main/Topics/topic-027.php

I'm not trying to bash the Pope, but we can't ignore that he was a false prophet. Just because the whole world is mourning over his death doesn't mean that we have to change our stance on what we believe. I don't have to pretend to like the Pope just because it wouldn't be politically correct otherwise. I do mourn, not because we lost a great spiritual leader, but I mourn for John Paul II because he is truly a man who gained the whole world and lost his own soul.

No More Classes...

mood:
listening to: Jay-Z & Linkin Park - Numb/Encore

...And more importantly, no more CS assignments! hehe... I had to do a stats assignment that was due on Tuesday. That wasn't too bad though; I finished it over the weekend.

I had CS 360 CS 341 assignments due today. I went to Embassy on Monday, so I didn't work on the two CS assignments too much that day. Started CS 360 on Tuesday, and actually got everything done. Started CS 341 during my calc lec on Wednesday (yes, I finally went to a calc lec!)... the written part was pretty easy. The programming part was pretty "fun"... um... it took a while to do, but I managed to get it done last night. So I got both CS assignments in today, and that's that with CS 341 and CS 360.... until finals!

The last project/assignment I have left is the Marketing presentation for bu121 tomorrow morning. My group (Peter, Nikki and I) is introducing a website (service) that helps dieters with their plans and stuff.. I won't get into the details. We're doing our presentation using PowerPoint, and we've also included a radio commercial at the end. It was a 45-second commcerical, but took a good 2 hours to get it done right... lol. We had quite a bit of bloopers, but too bad Peter delete most of them... I could have made a bloopers reel or something.. hehe.
