Stupid Protestors
mood:
mad
listening to: Stefanie Sun - Take It Slow
As some of you may know, Bush is in Ottawa today. My boss didn't come in to work today, and now I know why...
Got off work at 5 PM, started walking the same route I always take to get home. Then I see a bunch of people crowded together just before the bridge I need to get on. So I worked my way through them. Once I got to the end, I see that the bridge is blocked off by police. There were a bunch of officers in riot gear.... [hmm, guess I better turn back. Ok, so I guess I'll take the other bridge! Then I find a good part of Wellington is blocked off, cuz the Parliment is there. So I have to take a huge detour. It took me an hour to get home. It usually takes 25 mins.

Pouring Rain
mood:
indifferent
listening to: nothing
It was pouring rain yesterday morning/afternoon. I haven't seen rain like that since coming to Ottawa. My uncle and aunt (Vincent and Tauyee) came up to Ottawa for the weekend. I got a ride from them to church yesterday... good thing I didn't have to walk in that rain! =P Had lunch at Tauyee's mom's restaurant as usual... had some good conversation with everyone. =)

WoW Consumes Your Life
mood:
ehh
listening to: nothing
I got a copy of WoW on release date. It was quite the adventure... I had to go to several stores to find it. So that's what I've been up to the last few days. It really takes a good chunk of your day out. haha =D
If anyone reading this is playing it, I'm on the new PvE server Eonar. Stupid Blizzard had server problems last night, so I couldn't get on for a while... then I finally signed on to Eonar, but had to start all over again from level 1 -- since I was playing on a different server before --. Peter is playing on Eonar now too. I'm a Forsaken Warlock, he's a Troll Mage. I got up to level 10 now, halfway through it actually. Got my cool new pet, the Voidwalker =).
Sorry about so much WoW on my blog recently... but hey, it's my blog and I blog about whatever's happening in my life. =_o

Artest Suspended for Rest of the Season
mood:
woah
listening to: A-mei - Maybe Tomorrow
Didn't have time to blog about this earlier... most of you probably heard it already. If you haven't, you have probably been living in a cave on Mars. Stop living on Mars! haha j/k
A fight broke out during the Pacers and Pistons game on Friday night. Artest even punched a fan in the face! Anyway, I'm not gonna over the details... you can get that from any news site. I think the suspension that the NBA gave the players were too strict though. The Pacers has O'Neal out for 25 games, Jackson out for 30, Artest gone for the rest of the season, plus a few other suspensions. They played with only six players last night! lol

Long Bus Rides...
mood:
happy
listening to: Stefanie Sun - Rush
I got back to Toronto at 11:40 PM on Friday, and my dad picked me up at the Greyhound station. It was good to be home. I also got to see my grandpa before he went back to Taiwan... he was happy to see me, and was telling my mom about how he shook my hand (while I was still in the room =P). Grace and Joyce came got home from fellowship at 12:30 AM, we were all pretty tired... I ended up talking to Joyce until 2 AM. Grace went to sleep almost right away.
In the morning I watched a little bit of TV. X-men: Evolution. Haven't watched that for a long time. Me and Joyce played GameCube for a few minutes. My dad came home at around noon, and we left after he ate his lunch.
I was going to Waterloo, but before that I had to pick up some package from Purolator.. which is located in sq1. So I ended up leaving Sauga at around 1:45 PM. Got to Waterloo at around 2:20 PM I think. Me and Ams saw the place that she found for me... it's pretty close to her house, which is nice. I gotta e-mail that person back and tell her I'm interested. (I'll do that right after this) I basically just hung with Ams and Vanessa the whole time. Spent some time with Ams in a more casual environment ^_^. We were gonna go eat Japanese on Saturday night, but a bit of miscommunication occurred so it didn't happen. That's okay though, we can go eat there anytime. Plus, we spent some time to talk and look at pics... so it's all good.
Went to KPA on Sunday. Got lunch at a Chinese restaurant.... and once again, Ams liked the food. Go figure =\.
I had originally planned to take the 3:30 PM bus from Kitchener and get back to Ottawa at 12 AM.... but then I thought since I'm in Waterloo already I might as well stay a little while longer. So I decided to take the 6:30 PM bus, get back at 2 AM. Stupid Greyhound needs to update their website info! The bus was at 7:30 PM, not 6:30! I got there early, at 5:35 PM... bought the tickets, waited until 6:30 PM. The bus driver told me that the bus was a slow bus which will make a stop in Guelph for a while... I needed to take the 7:30 bus >_>. So I waited another hour *sigh*... coulda stayed at Ams' place longer. Oh well. I called Ams and talked a bit. Then went to Hasty Market and bought two bottles of Bawls.
The bus ride was 9 hours. It was okay for the first 2 hours, then it becomes really uncomfortable. Good thing there was a break in Toronto when transferring... and another one halfway to Ottawa. I got home at 2 AM, went to sleep at 2:30. Woke up this morning, had a bottle of Bawls and was good to go =P.
Five more weeks to go! And then it's Christmas break!! WoW coming out tomorrow! I got the 1 Year anniversary card Ams sent me! ^__^

I'm going home for the first time since Thanksgiving! I'm actually going to Waterloo to check out a house, but I'm gonna be in Sauga on Friday night, then leave for Waterloo Saturday morning. I have to take the greyhound again.... 5 hours of bus ride!! I hope no smelly people sit near me this time.

WoW Open Beta Ends
mood:
sad
listening to: Coco Lee - Perfect In Every Way
WoW OB ends tonight *sigh*. I had a lot of fun "testing" Blizzard's MMORPG, and I wished the OB would last longer.... now there is a few days between the OB's end and the retail's launch. A few days without WoW.... sucks! haha, but I'll live =P.
Since tonight is the last night of OB, a lot of people on the PvP server I'm on are doing raids. I was a Forsaken Rogue, but I spent most of my time in the Orcs and Tauren's place in Kalimdor. It's so much nicer than the stupid Tirisfal Glade that homes the Forsaken. A bunch of us were gathered in a small town called Crossroads. The Humans and Nightelves were trying to raid that place.... haha, they got slaughtered. Later on, 50+ of us raided the Nightelf's island in Northern Kalimdor. We rocked them on the first few encounters, but then got killed by a bunch of NPCs in a town. I spent a lot of the time resurrecting, getting killed, resurrecting, .... Was not too fun >_<.
All and all, I had the most fun tonight than any other during OB. I can't wait until the retail comes out. I'm gonna try and pick it up on the 23rd, when it comes out.

Happy One Year!
mood:
happy
listening to: Laruku - Ready Steady Go
It's mine and Ams' one year anniversary today. Yup, a whole one year. =)
The year went by so fast, but probably cuz we were usually in different cities during the year... always waiting to see each other again. So I'm looking forward to Winter 2005, when we'll finally be in Waterloo at the same time again. ^_^ In the meantime though, I will enjoy what's left of this term, and the rest of my stay in Ottawa. I probably won't see my aunt and uncle too much after this term, and I'm not sure if I'll be coming back to Ottawa in future work terms.
Anyway, it'll be nice when Ams comes up during the Christmas break in December. We'll get an extended alone time together =P. And she can go back to that really friendly church we went to last Sunday. huhu

From Waterloo to Ottawa
mood:
happy
listening to: Gackt - Last Song
Ams, Vanesssa, Greg and Ryan came to Ottawa from Waterloo last night... well, in the moring, at around 2 am. Sure was a long drive down from Waterloo =P. I cooked some food for them, and they liked it... well, they said they liked it anyway. That spicy chicken thing is good... pretty easy to make too! Just needs a lot of ingredients >_>.
It was nice so see everyone, especially Ams. I haven't seen her since I went back home for the Thanksgiving weekend! Hopefully she'll be able to come up again in December. We'll have more time to do stuff in Ottawa then, since this time we didn't have that much time.
We went to some Chinese church today. So many people go to UW! haha, but I guess it's expected... there are a lot of co-ops in Ottawa. We stayed there for a while, chatting with some of the church members, they were really friendly.... and I have met some of them when I went earlier this term. After church we went to my aunt and uncle's restaurant to eat lunch. Ams liked her smoked chicken... and to think that she didn't wanna eat Chinese food before =P.
So now I'm by myself again. Work starts again tomorrow >_<... my four-day weekend ended so fast! And I miss Ams already... won't see her until December. >_< x2

I had a discussion on slashdot.org about infinity. Some people didn't believe me and other people saying that some infinities are larger than others. The other guy wanted to learn more, and we gave him info and links to help him. haha... math is fun ne? =P

Poor Zombie Dude T_T
mood:
sad
listening to: Do As Infinity - Gates of Heaven
I played a bit of WoW. I probably spent most of the time creating my character. I finally decided on this really cool looking undead warlock.
So here I go in the game! I've never played any MMORPG before, so this was all new to me. I see some friendly zombies nearby, cool =). Walked some more, found a rat and killed it. I tried to eat it, but I guess the dude didn't like rat meat or something.. O_o, but maybe you can only eat humanoid corpses. So fine. There were some flying creatures near some hills, and I killed two of them... got some items, w00t! I'm so 1337!! Oh wait, what's this? Only level 1? >_> Nevermind...
I decided to actually try to find my zombie dude's homeland... it's supposed to be underground, and I heard someone asking where the graveyard was. So I thought that I need to find a graveyard. While I'm exploring I bumped into some girl mage. Another friendly zombie? Nope! >_< It was a stupid human girl, and she toasted my zombie butt with her stupid fireballs. So I died, and I decided to quit the game and try my luck again later.

Dinner at Kinki
mood:
happy
listening to: Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
I was at Kinki last night with Kevin, Mike and Kevin's cooking class. Kinki is an asian fusion restaurant, pretty pricey. One of the chefs at Kinki was at the cooking school that Kevin and his class were at... so after the class had ended they e-mailed the chef and told him they were all going down for a meal. We got two free dishes, one was all sushi, the other had salad, tempura, dumplings, and other food. I really liked the place, the atmosphere was nice, lot lighting, nice decorations... hmm, so high class. lol
Oh, and I love Smallville! I really like this song I'm listening to right now, by Boulevard Of Broken Dreams Green Day. And guess what? It was playing on Smallville this week! They always have great songs on that show.
A new Simpsons episode this Sunday, can't wait.

An interesting thing to note is that the exit polls showed that the majority of the people who voted for Kerry voted for him because they were against Bush. Whereas majority of the voters for Bush voted from him because they supported him. [http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/US/P/00/epolls.0.html] I guess Kerry didn't really have that great of a support, just a lot of people who wanted Bush out.
I'm not a not fan of Bush, but he would get my vote too if I were a US citizen. Bush isn't the most coherent president, neither do I agree with some of the things he's done... but I trust him more than Kerry. Kerry flip-flops a bit too much. And I can't help but feel that he just says a lot of things because that's what people want to hear. He wouldn't have made a bad president per se, but I just don't really know what he is going to do. At least with Bush, you know where he stands on each issue, even if you don't agree. =P

Daylight Savings + Smallville
mood:
thoughtful
listening to: Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
Today was the first day of work since daylight saving ended. I both love and hate it.
What I like is that being an hour later makes sure that there are no more frost on the wooden bridge that I take to get to work. Trust me, it's not fun walking on that thing. It's somewhat reminiscent of the "ice of death" at Waterloo. Stupid ice covers all the sidewalks of Waterloo during the winter term -- for the record, I haven't slipped on it yet --, and the wind blowing like a mofo doesn't help either. Oh, also that really icy hill outside of the V1 cafe where so many have slipped and fell on their butt -- me being on of them >_> --, it's not cool. Well, it is pretty funny when it happens to other people... call me mean, but it's true! Anyway, back to daylight saving... The thing I don't like about it is that the sun goes down an hour earlier. That is, right when I get off work. It sucks to have to walk home when it's dark.
On another topic, I forgot to comment on last week's Smallville episode. That scene in the prison at the end (with Clark and Lionel) was brilliant! The music was great too! So fitting for that scene. The song was "Pain" by Jimmy Eat World by the way. Check out that song, it's great! =D
