I feel a bit better now. Still kinda weird that this happened, especially on my last co-op term. But that’s life!
I’m working on my essay for Philosophy 101, which is due tomorrow. I’m also going to start applying to grad jobs as soon as I’m done this essay.

Yeah, still kinda weird to be laid off as a co-op, but it happens. At least now I have more time to do other stuff… like apply for grad jobs. =P

i learned in my employment law class that co-op students are not protected under the employment act (or something like that) which is probably why you’re the first to go. and according to the law, companies dont even have to pay co-op students. so…it’s really a grey area. but i was almost laid off once :P so, i know how it’s like. you still gonna get your co-op credit though?

No, you need at least 8 weeks to get the co-op credit. My co-ordinator is trying to find another job for me this term, but it’s kinda late so I doubt anything will come up. It’s alright though cuz I alright completed the necessary number of terms I need to graduate.

How many weeks do you have already? And what kind of jobs qualify?

I’m not sure what jobs qualify, but for sure it can’t be retail or fast-food. I have 6 weeks, so I need 2 more weeks. I really don’t care if I get the credit or not, as it will have no effect on my academics nor my degree.
