Secure a Job Before School Starts?

November 28th, 2006

I have two interviews for a grad position so far. I haven’t been aggressively searching for jobs, but it would be nice not to have to worry about that during school or after school. The first interview was at Infusion Dev, and it was for C# development. I don’t know C# that well since I only spent 4 months working on it at Lehman, so the technical questions were kinda tough. If you asked me I would say the interview didn’t go well, but you never know. When I interviewed with Cube Route for a co-op job it was also very technical, and I didn’t think I did well. I got that job though, and hopefully I will get the C# job (doubtful).

The second interview was with SQL Power, for a Java Developer job. I’m much more comfortable with Java, so I was more confident going into this interview. I was able to answer all the technical questions, so I’m happy about that. There is still a programming task that I have to complete, which shouldn’t take more than 90 mins. I will get the task tomorrow to work on, since I have to finish my philosophy assignment today.

Canada Facing Shortage of IT Employees

November 22nd, 2006

I was reading an article in The National Post today about the short term future of IT. According to Stats Canada, about 31K IT employees currently working will retire or switch fields within five years. The enrollment rate for Computer Science also dropped 70% from 2000 to 2005. So there is going to be a shortage of people for the tech industry… interesting.

TVXQ - Rising Sun

November 22nd, 2006

I’ve seen listening to some Koreans songs because Ams is pretty crazy about them. I must admit some of them are pretty catchy. One song in particular is TVXQ’s (or DBSK in Korea) Rising Sun.

3 Year Anniversary

November 15th, 2006

Today is mine and Ams’ three year anniversary. It’s pretty strange to think that three years ago I didn’t know her because it seems like I’ve known her for so long. We can’t really do anything for our anniversary since she’s in Waterloo and I’m at home in Toronto, but we can always make up for it later.

Love you lots Ams. *kiss* =)

The Legend of Zelda: A Wii Adventure

I came across this video on Google Video. I’m not sure how it was done, but it had me laughing.

Lost Season Ends

November 9th, 2006

ABC ended the third season of Lost last night. Day Break, a new TV series, is taking Lost’s usual time slot. I must say that this really sucks, because I look forward to a new episode of Lost every week, and now there won’t be any new episodes until February, 2007. Oh, and ABC is also going to show preview clips of the season premiere of Lost during Day Break (or at the end of it). It’s all a big scheme to get people to watch that new show. But I don’t care about Day Break, just get me Lost! Dammit…

Current Mood: furious mad.

Weekend In Brampton

November 6th, 2006

Ams went back to Brampton this past weekend, so I went over to spend some time with her. We didn’t do much, but it was still fun. It was a pretty lazy weekend, and I guess it’s what Ams needed since she has been pretty busy lately with school and work.

On Saturday Ams and I cooked dinner together. We went grocery shopping for ingredients for the pasta sauce. The best thing was that Ams had a box of M&M meatballs. Hmm, meatballs. :)
