One of the problems of being very petite (almost too petite) is that others invalidate my recognition that I have gotten chubbier. Yes, it is possible for a size 0 person to become a size 1 and *gasp* a size 2! And yes it is possible for people of these sizes to have too much fat. There is such a thing as accumulating fat internally - on your organs to be precise. Read this article: Thin people might be fat on the inside.

Anyway, when others (most often people who are larger than me, which is 99.9% of the adult population) decide to start working out because they want to lose some flub and become healthier, people generally support them. What happens when I convey the same ambition? I get that look. The look that says I’m crazy and I should trust the judgment of those who have no idea what it’s like to have a very small body that is far from being healthy (read: asthma, fatigue, poor stamina, weak muscles, etc.). I do not look at models and think “that’s what I want to look like” because quite frankly, their body types are unnatural and unhealthy for the majority of the population. So no, it’s not all in my mind. I think I know when I’m out of shape. I walk up one flight of stairs and I’m panting. That’s not good! And I refuse to use my asthma as an excuse for not being more active. Damn you asthma!

So anyway, I started doing my morning exercises again. When the weather isn’t shitty like it was yesterday, I intend to go for a half hour walk. I would like to do an hour but Waterloo is not good for my asthma - not sure why. So here is to being healthy - cheers!

My Tree of Daze

This is the maple tree behind my room that I talked about before. Thankfully when I made this picture smaller, you can’t even tell that I didn’t move the screen mesh out of the way. Hehehe…shh, don’t tell anyone. I love my tree. It’s so soothing to look at and just daze off into. It doesn’t look like this anymore because of the crazy wind we’ve been having. It’s almost completely naked now. Oh how winter is sneaking up…I can feel it already.

I really need a new coat, too. I’ve had to layer like mad the past few days because the wind is so nippy. Hopefully I can pick one up this weekend when I go home and save myself another week of sickness. I’m not sure what kind to get though…I definately want to keep with my goal of having a more mature look. But…I don’t know what would look good in a semi-casual way. Plus it’s always hard to find my size, so I can’t be too picky either. I wonder what’s in style these days. I don’t keep up with anything now, especially since I don’t have a TV.

I came across a video of Froggy (my previous hamster) today when I was looking through pictures. It made me really miss him. It’s not that I don’t like Tokki (my current hamster), but Tokki doesn’t interact with me the way Froggy did. I know it’s silly to miss a hamster this much, but I really do miss him a lot. I wish I could hold him again, or at least have a better goodbye.

First Dye Job

Don’t you hate it when your camera re-sets itself to take megahuge pictures? Now all my recent pictures are about 1MB each. Why would I need pictures that big unless I wanted to make a wallpaper or something. And all I have is shitty Microsoft Paint to resize. Grr >_>. Anyway, the day after I got engaged I dyed my hair for the first time. It had nothing to do with the engagement. It just so happened that I planned to dye it the day I got back from Jack’s place. Anyway, on to the pics! I found the first pic amusing, so that’s why I posted it.

[EDIT] The pictures in this post have been deleted. [/EDIT]

I don’t actually wear my hair like this. The red is on both sides as an underlayer so that red sometimes peeks through under my natural hair. The red is really vibrant in natural light. I think it looks cool. The flash doesn’t do it justice though. Oh, and look! It’s me with Tokki! He’s so cute. ^_^

Edgy = Cute??

Don’t you hate it when you go to get an edgy haircut and come out looking cute? Haha…ah well. It’s still a nice cut. And it has bangs! =D

Hmm…judging from my previous haircut, do you think they’re too similar? (aside from having bangs)

Gotta Love BAH-ston

Oh man, I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted. I was supposed to post an entry I made earlier, but my mom told me not to >_>. *sigh* Anyway, I went to Boston for the Canada Day weekend with Jack and his family to visit his older sister. It was fun, but since I was on my period I felt all bung for the first day. Stupid period >_>. Thankfully we had really good weather because otherwise I would have been extremely bung. We saw quite a few things including, part of the Harvard University campus, the New England Aquarium and went on a Duck Tour. The tour was a lot of fun: lots of things to see, a pleasant ride (thanks to good weather) and a very entertaining guide. It’s called a duck tour because we travel around Boston on “an authentic, renovated World War II amphibious landing vehicle”. That was quoted from their site, btw. I would not want to get into an accident with it while I was driving. Instant death!

I have to admit that part of the tour went over my head because there were a lot of references to American history. And let’s face it, the only thing I really remember about American history is the fact that Canada burnt down their White House. So some of the monuments were just pretty to me rather than having much significane. Along with that, there were a lot of American tourists since Indepence day was that week too. One of the benefits of this was that there were mega sales going on. And if anyone has been to Massachusetts before (btw, Massachusetts is a really weird spelling), you will know that they don’t have tax on clothes and shoes. So I bought my first pair of grown-up boots. I feel like such an adult now. They are absolutely beautiful. Everytime I wear them I keep taking not-so-subtle peeks at them just because they bring me so much joy. And since I have size 5-5 1/2 feet, they look uber cute. I got them on sale too! Also since the Canadian dollar is doing REALLY well lately, I saved a hella lotta moolah. Ams is tres content. Here is a pic of them.

So the trip was very enjoyable. I love spending time with my Jacku. It’s also interesting to see how he interacts with his family, especially his sisters. He is such a brother. What’s up with boys being all lovey dovey with their girlfriends and then being annoying pests to their sisters? Haha. I’m so glad I don’t have brothers. Anyway, here are some pics of the two of us. The first was taken on the duck and the second was with us wearing our super cool 3-D glasses after watching an IMAX film. ^_^

You can really tell how small my face is when I wear those glasses. Stupid small face >_>. Well that is all from me since this post is so long. I will post soon since I have quite a bit to blog about. Ta ta everyone. =)
