Update

Just some news that I need to report:
1. Jack and I had taken a week vacation to the West coast to visit my uncle’s family. We had a great time there and we got a lot of shopping done (they don’t have sales tax in their state). I got sick at the end of the trip which really sucked and I’m still getting over it now. =/

2. My hamster Tokki passed away when I was gone - just a day before I was going to get back. For some reason I always know when my hamsters are going to go and the last two ones passed away when I went away for a week. Maybe they do it on purpose? So for both Froggy and Tokki I had a feeling they would pass while I was away and I said goodbye before I left. It doesn’t make it any easier though. Unlike Froggy I got to bury Tokki myself, but it didn’t really do much for me. His body was just a carcass - it wasn’t Tokki. I wish I could have been there. I hate to think that he died alone. I still haven’t put away his cage and everytime I see it I forget that he isn’t there. Death sucks.

3. Now that I’m done school I’ve been applying for jobs. I was really upset yesterday because I had wanted to apply to a research analyst job but I missed the deadline by one day. It was a job that I really wanted and I am perfect for. Now I have to apply to some mediocre jobs that I don’t care as much about. ARGH!

4. I have my convocation at the end of the month and I don’t know what to wear to it. I want to look good since there will be a lot of picture taking. Being in an MA program means you get really close with the other people in your program as well as professors. This convocation has more meaning than my undergrad one for that as well as because I worked my ass off to graduate!

5. I made another blog. Yes, another one. Don’t you know I’m a blogging addict yet? Gosh! Here it is >> Je t’aime

How To Tie A Tie

Author: Ams

I’ve been tying my tie the wrong way! Well that’s what I always thought because I was told that the right way lets you pull the two ends apart without creating a knot…and mine didn’t. But according to Le Chateau there are three ways to tie a tie. They even had diagrams to show them. =D

1. The Windsor Knot

I went to the mall yesterday and bought a dress for our engagement party. I really like it, but to be honest I liked the first one better. I had picked out which dress I wanted and went place an order for my size on Sunday, but the manager said she wouldn’t order it for me because there were too many orders for that dress that came in damaged. The waistband isn’t wide enough so it ends up being wripped when people try it on. It was such a beautiful dress too. You would think that designers would check to see if their creations were practical. So many times I’ve attempted to try a shirt on and the neck doesn’t stretch enough to fit over my head. And I have a very small head! So stupid. Anyway, this is the dress I got. Sorry for the bad pics. I wasn’t patient enough to take a “fabulous” shot. These were good enough. =P

My Tree of Daze

Author: Ams

This is the maple tree behind my room that I talked about before. Thankfully when I made this picture smaller, you can’t even tell that I didn’t move the screen mesh out of the way. Hehehe…shh, don’t tell anyone. I love my tree. It’s so soothing to look at and just daze off into. It doesn’t look like this anymore because of the crazy wind we’ve been having. It’s almost completely naked now. Oh how winter is sneaking up…I can feel it already.

I really need a new coat, too. I’ve had to layer like mad the past few days because the wind is so nippy. Hopefully I can pick one up this weekend when I go home and save myself another week of sickness. I’m not sure what kind to get though…I definately want to keep with my goal of having a more mature look. But…I don’t know what would look good in a semi-casual way. Plus it’s always hard to find my size, so I can’t be too picky either. I wonder what’s in style these days. I don’t keep up with anything now, especially since I don’t have a TV.

I came across a video of Froggy (my previous hamster) today when I was looking through pictures. It made me really miss him. It’s not that I don’t like Tokki (my current hamster), but Tokki doesn’t interact with me the way Froggy did. I know it’s silly to miss a hamster this much, but I really do miss him a lot. I wish I could hold him again, or at least have a better goodbye.

I don’t care what anyone says. Sweater vests are sexy. The first time I saw Jack in one, I drooled like crazy. I still remember him walking over to a printer of photocopier (can’t remember because I was too distracted) and I couldn’t keep my eyes off of him. Maybe I have a strange fettish for geeks, I don’t know. But those sweater vests…they make my hormones go crazy. And just to make life better, my crush Sungmin from Super Junior is wearing a sweater vest in their performances for their latest song. Life is good.
