Hotashi

I am the official holder of a Bachelor’s Degree. Yay me! I had my convocation ceremony yesterday, which was a lot shorter than I was expecting. People kept telling me that it would be at least 4 hours but it ended up being just over 2. Thank God for that because I was bored to death. It was quite ridiculous really because rather than giving you your degree, we just got to shake hands with four people and pick up our degree after on campus. Plus we had the ceremony in an ice rink at the local recreation centre. How encouraging is it to have nothing change from high school. So classy >_>.

The weather was really bad too. We had a thunderstorm when it was over so nobody wanted to leave the building, which made everything cramped and unsafe. I took refuge on the top level looking down at everyone. It was only when the storm let up a bit and people flooded out that I was able to find my family. We went to a Thai/Viet restaurant after, which gave us a LOT of food. So good though. I’m glad the whole thing is over because I hate going to things like this. Too many people and a lot of hype…not my cup of tea. At least I got some pics with some of my friends. The weather and packed place made it hard to find most of them, so that added to the sucky-ness. Poo! At least now I have my degree and can write that on my resume. Although I don’t think I can do very much with a BA.
